H.R. 647: Palliative Care, Hospice Education, Training Act



The Palliative Care and Hospice Education and Training Act (PCHETA House HR 647, Senate S 2080) aims to establish Palliative Care and Hospice Education Centers, provide physician and nurse training in palliative medicine. It provides Palliative Medicine and Hospice Academic and Career Incentive Awards to individuals to support career development, develop a national education and awareness campaign, and to expand national palliative care research programs.

Palliative care is an essential part of treatment for kids with cancer and improves quality, controls cost, and enhances patient and family satisfaction for individuals with serious or life-threatening illness.
