H.R. 4429: Fairness to Kids with Cancer Act of 2019 is intended to ensure that a fair percentage of Federal cancer research funds are dedicated to pediatric cancer research. For fiscal year 2020 and each subsequent fiscal year, the President shall ensure that, of the total amount of Federal funds obligated for cancer research, the percentage obligated for pediatric cancer research (individuals under age 18) is equal to the percentage of total population of persons under age 18 years that reside in the United States compared to total number of individuals residing in the United States at such time, as determined by the Bureau of the Census. This bill would require NCI to devote more of their research budget to childhood cancers instead of the 4% as it is today. Join the Fairness to Kids with cancer Facebook Group to stay up to date.
